Dragana Van de moortel-Ilić has been a professional astrologer, teacher and lecturer in astrology since1990.
In the late 80s and beginning of the 90s Dragana worked at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in the Department of Organic Chemistry, on the synthesis of organic chemistry. In the 90s, whilst studying astrology with the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London, she developed her own astrology practice in Novi Sad and left the University. One of the teachers that influenced her way of thinking, supported her and inspired her was Melanie Reinhart whose book ‘Chiron and the Healing Journey’ she translated into the Serbian language and published.
In 1999 she moved to Belgium, where she started her own school in astrology. From 2002 she began work as a mentor for the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London and from 2009 she was appointed as a mentor for the Institute for Psychological Astrology and Psychoanalysis – IPAL, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
In 2016 her journey of learning continued opening up new horizons: she obtained an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. The new field of her exploration was the visual exploration of frescoes with cosmological elements in medieval Serbia. Her specialism was the images of the personified planets, the Sun and the Moon in fourteenth century iconography.
In 2018 Dragana was appointed coordinator for the Faculty of Astrological Studies Summer School in Oxford. She is also a counsellor for the Faculty.
